Advancement Services provides the backbone of an organization’s Advancement operation. Advancement Services professionals gather, organize, manage and disseminate information to guide the sound and effective advancement and overall business decisions of not-for-profit organizations. They establish principles, adhere to guidelines and apply technical solutions to minimize risk and maximize philanthropic investment in their organizations. Advancement Services professionals protect and advance the missions of their organizations and the interests of those who support these missions.


Roles of Advancement Services:

  • Database management and reporting
  • Gift and biographical records management
  • Donor relations – recognition and stewardship
  • Prospect development – prospect research and prospect management

Additional functions such as staff training and development, events management, internal and external communications may also be included in Advancement Services operation.

Services

Guidelines and procedures enable the Advancement Services department to establish reasonable priorities and better respond to the needs of the user and the overall needs of the University.

 

This section outlines the guidelines and procedures for requesting reports, data, and access to system applications, such as Raiser's Edge, MyCommunity and Filemaker Pro.  This section also includes the online request forms for email, newsletter and online RSVP forms.

Training

Training is required before a Raiser's Edge or MyCommunity account is activated. Training courses are being updated as additonal Raiser's Edge and MyCommunity functionality becomes avaliable. At least two training sessions are offered each month.

 

In this section you will find resources such as additonal online training courses, how-to videos, written documentation, and classes offered by the Metro State Advancement Services team.

Forms

A collection of commonly used forms to request support from Advancement Services, or for interaction with the Advancement Office or University Foundation.

 

In this section you will find resources on how to process or interact with the Advancement Office.  Including but not limited to policies and procedures, pledge and gift processing forms, and a confidentiality agreement.  These documents are supported by several departments and are reviewed and updated periodically.
